Paris!

23 March 2010

We have just booked our flights to Paris! We are going to be there with our boys from the 1st of June until the 8th and I am unbelievably excited! We have a bijou apartment on the Rue du Louvre booked as well so that I am just a short stagger away from the Louvre and Palais Royale. It’s going to be wonderful!

The main purpose of going is to have fun of course but I will also be taking lots of photographs and doing plenty of research for posts to this blog. At the moment I’m planning visits to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Conciergerie, Musée des Arts Decoratifs (my favourite museum), the Musée Orsay, Palais Royale, Carnavalet, Versailles and Saint Denis, but am also considering a day trip to either Malmaison or Fontainebleau as well. It’s going to be brilliant!

Expect lots of posts about Marie Antoinette, the French Revolution and royal tombs when I return! I wish we were going RIGHT NOW but I need a bit of time to save up for all those macarons, posters and my all important Paris Museum Pass! The only thing that daunts me, as usual, is the challenge of not compromising my vegetarianism when I am there but have always managed just fine so far!
